NENA works with 9-1-1 professionals nationwide, public policy leaders, emergency services and telecommunications industry partners, like-minded public safety associations, and other stakeholder groups to develop and carry out critical programs and initiatives, to facilitate the creation of an IP-based Next Generation 9-1-1 system, and to establish industry leading standards, training, and certifications. Through the association’s effort to provide effective and efficient public safety solutions, NENA strives to protect human life, preserve property and maintain the security of our communities.
What Are People Saying about NENA?
“For me, being a part of NENA has helped me tremendously throughout my career. Participating in various work groups helped me to learn and grow in ways I never could have believed. The more I participated, the more I was asked to do. I became a work group leader and then a committee co-chair. That participation helped catapult me up the chain of command within my PSAP and then be recruited by an NG911 Core Services Provider to lead their efforts in standards development before becoming a NENA staff member.”April Heinze – 911 and PSAP Operations Director – NENA
“In 2017 I sat for the NENA ENP exam, and passed after months of preparation and studying. Aligning myself with NENA who’s mission is to empower its members and the 911 Community by contributing, training, and sharing ideas is exactly what drives me. I do not know that I am a subject matter expert on 911, but I do have enormous passion to do what I can to change, enhance, and help build the best 911 industry possible with the help of the members of NENA.”Troy Cordle – ENP and Lead ECC Engagement Manager – Rapid SOS
